We didn’t know what deadmau5 was hiding behind that mouse mask, but we could’ve never guessed his true identity was that of an incel. The house producer and DJ has been banned from Twitch after directing a homophobic slur towards another user.
As TMZ reports, whilst playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds earlier this week. deadmau5 began to taunt another user he believed was playing unfairly. deadmau5 continued to hurl homophobic abuse at the user, referring to him as a “fucking c*ck-sucking stream sniper f*g”.
Instead of apologising for his vile spat, in true cheese puff-stained-fingers fashion, deadmau5 released a statement defending his behaviour and denouncing twitch.
Within the statement, deadmau5 wrote “While we’ve had some fun partnerships here and there, and they were a great company to work with… I’m gonna have to cut this one short. I don’t have the capacity to deal with that kind of shit. I’m not going to stand for twitch’s double standard when it comes to censoring and suspending me for harmless shit.”
deadmau5 acknowledged that his use of slurs was “generally toxic as fuck.” Yet he attempted to justify his actions by admitting it was “not an ideology I hold closely to my moral standing by a fuckin longshot.”
He continued, “While it was intended to insult a fuckin asshat who was being a fucking asshat. It wasn’t directed at an entire group of people who have a sexual orientation that differs from my own. Fuck off with that shit.”

This is not the first time the Canadian DJ has copped backlash over his use of offensive language. As COS notes, last year he came under fire for making a transphobic remark in an exchange with a Twitter user. That same month he described a track from DJ Slushii as “AIDS fucking music” and “autistic shit.”
UPDATE: I’ve just seen a picture of deadmau5 without the mask for the first time in my life and the herb looks like a living, breathing can of Monster energy drink. Who let him succeed?

Whilst you’re here, why don’t we reflect on that time that Alison Wonderland clapped back at deadmau5 and beat him at his own game.
