For anyone who can’t wait for DMA’S to release their next album in July, we’ve got good news. As it turns out, Johnny Took has been making some music with his brother Matty under the moniker of Big Time.
Matty Took is the lead vocalist of Sydney outfit PLANET, and the pair have dropped the first single from Big Time called ‘It’s You’. The release of the single, and now an official video, follows some teasing over the last couple of weeks, with Johnny describing the sound of the side project as “fuzzed out pop rock.”
“It’s not every day you can launch a new project – appreciate your time and love,” tweeted Took.

‘It’s You’ is available on all streaming platforms, and the official video is also out. It’s a one-shot clip with no cuts, and was directed by Tyson Perkins.
“Watch me get dressed, party with my mates and make a video clip all in one shot for our new ‘BIG TIME’ single ‘It’s You’,” tweeted Took upon its release.

Some fans have also been asking Johnny if the emergence of Big Time might mean that DMA’S are ramping it down, but he took to Twitter to dispel any rumours.
