DMA’S are giving fans another reason to celebrate their biggest year yet, expanding their chart-topping self-titled album with four additional tracks.
Released today (November 6th), the deluxe edition features two previously unheard songs, “Best Life” and “Don’t Change”, alongside stripped-back versions of “Heatin Park” and “My Baby’s Place”.
It’s a fitting extension of an album that saw Tommy O’Dell, Johnny Took and Matt Mason reconnect with the rawness and spontaneity of their earlier material, a decade after the release of their debut, Hills End.
Speaking to Rolling Stone AU/NZ in August, Mason explained that the band had deliberately moved away from the more elaborate production of their recent records, including 2023’s How Many Dreams?, in favour of something more immediate.
“I feel like it was time to bring back that raw energy that I think people really liked,” he said.
That approach shaped much of the album’s recording process, with the trio working largely from their own studio in Glebe, experimenting with unconventional recording techniques and resisting the temptation to endlessly refine every detail.
The inclusion of an acoustic version of “Heatin Park” is particularly interesting given the song’s unlikely journey onto the album.

Mason previously revealed to us that the track had almost been abandoned before an eight-year-old demo was combined with a newer chorus developed during sessions in Los Angeles. Its title, meanwhile, emerged from a combination of Manchester’s Heaton Park and an unexpected reference to Linkin Park.
The deluxe release arrives amid a landmark year for DMA’S. Beyond topping the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time, both “My Baby’s Place” and “Heatin Park” reached No. 1 on triple j’s most-played chart, while the band also delivered a memorable performance at the station’s One Night Stand, including a rendition of “Silver” featuring the Griffith Children’s Choir.
DMA’S are also nominated for four awards at this year’s ARIAs: Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Rock Album, and Best Video for the Cole Surrey-directed “My Baby’s Place”.
Next on the agenda is an Australian headline tour, beginning at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on November 27th before heading to Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens on November 28th and Sydney’s Opera House Forecourt on December 3rd.
Alongside material from the new album and fan favourites, the shows will feature a special Hills End set celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut, following a sold-out anniversary performance in Sydney earlier this year.
The band will then take the tour to the UK and Ireland in February 2027.
For a group that spend much of its fifth album rediscovering what made them fall in love with making music in the first place, the deluxe edition offers another opportunity to hear those songs from a different perspective.
DMA’S (Deluxe) is out now. Tickets for the Australian tour are available via Secret Sounds and Live Nation.
