Simply the thought alone of real life angel, Dolly Parton, tends to conjure images of puppies, rainbows and cupcakes for many. So, it comes as little surprise that the sweet star has released her own ice cream flavour, a very appropriate, strawberry pretzel pie.

The flavour was released by American company, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and the announcement has excited the internet so much that the huge jump in traffic crashed the brands website.

“Did y’all just break our website?” Jeni’s tweeted after the traffic to their website traffic shot up to more than 50 times its average.

The brand’s Twitter account has shared that the website has been struggling with the traffic all day, leaving disappointed fans unable to purchase their pints.

“To those of you trying to order Strawberry Pretzel Pie online, we are so sorry. This sucks. The flavor is NOT sold out. Our website issues have lasted longer than expected, but we are working on it and will let you know via email and social media when we’re back up and running,” they tweeted on the brand’s official account.

Turns out Dolly Parton’s pints are in such high demand that fans were even lined up at various Jeni’s scoop shops across America in an attempt to get their hands one of the limited 10,000 pints available.

The adorable pints come in powder pink tubs which feature a cartoon drawing of the country singer on the side.

The proceeds from the popular pints will be donated to Parton’s charity, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, an organisation which donates free books to children around the world.
