Drake administered a partnership between the Ultimate Rap League and Caffeine, which will bring battle rap to more viewers around the world. New York’s Ultimate Rap League calls itself the world’s “most respected battle league.”

Battle rap has brought us everyone from Eminem and Jay-Z to Kerser over the years. But the hip hop subgenre also has hordes of purists who spend their professional lives dedicated to live battling. Drake is a big fan and a particular supporter of the Ultimate Rap League (aka URL). The league currently broadcasts its battles via an official app, often raking in upwards of a million viewers.

However, Drake is determined to get more people interested in battle rap (and pocket a few dimes along the way). He’s behind a new partnership between URL and the Caffeine streaming platform. They’re not messing around either – URL comes to Caffeine this week.

You can sign up to Caffeine for free, and then watch all the URL battles you like. Drake released a statement explaining his involvement with URL.

“I’ve always loved URL and admired what Smack and his team have been able to create, it just wasn’t easily accessible,” he said. “It’s exciting to be in a position where I’m able to bring Caffeine to the table and help provide URL with the tools they need to elevate the viewing experience and make it more accessible to fans.”

In other recent Drake news, he’s working with Future again. Fans have been eager for a sequel to 2015’s What A Time To Be Alive record. The pair released ‘Life Is Good’ in January and followed with ‘Desires’ in early Feb. He wrapped up the 2010s by appearing on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ‘Loyal’.
