Drawn From Bees announce the forthcoming release of their new album The May King & His Paper Crown with a selection of limited edition pre-order packages and a national tour.
Since inception, Drawn Bees have consistently challenged orthodoxy. From their first four records being a chapter in the Elementary Tales for Boys and Girls box set to the latest release The May King and His Paper Crown, a record that delves into love, loss, murder and betrayal.
The May King and His Paper Crown is about unrequited love and the loss of innocence, written over 12 months with an aim to create something different than they had ever done, a concept for the record driving the songwriting and recording process.
Featuring the starred crossed lovers themed single ‘The Ballad of Running Bear’, the 13 track long player’s release also coincides with the delivery of their new radio single ‘Whistling Bone’, a spooky atmospheric track with washy synth sounds and layers of ghostly floating vocals.
Awarded a touring grant from the Contemporary Music Touring Program, don’t miss the opportunity to see The May King and His Paper Crown brought to life as Drawn From Bees visit venues across Australia’s major cities and regional Queensland during October and November. With a very special performance planned for Brisbane’s Powerhouse Theatre, featuring a mini-orchestra, two narrators, projections and a stunning lighting show not to be missed.
