The Who have teamed up with grunge royalty at their recent show, bringing out none other than Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder during a performance at Wembley Stadium.
On Saturday night, rock icons The Who found themselves performing a hometown show in the massive confines of London’s Wembley Stadium.
Not wanting to leave their fans feeling unfulfilled, the group decided to complement their 24-song, orchestra-featuring set by bringing out a special guest during the final few songs of the night.
As The Who got ready to dip into a rendition of ‘The Punk And The Godfather’ from 1973’s Quadrophenia, Roger Daltrey welcomed Eddie Vedder onto the stage, not long after the Pearl Jam frontman had performed as the evening’s opening act.
“He’s going to share this song with me because he knows where it came from,” Daltrey explained before turning his attention to Vedder. “What one were you? I was the one with the stutter”
“No,” Vedder replied. “I’m still the punk.”

In recent news, Roger Daltrey explained that while The Who are still killing it on the live stage, he believes his voice only has a few years left before it goes for good.
“Obviously within the next five years I think my voice will go,” Daltrey explained to Billboard. “Age will get it in the end. It’s still there at the moment.”
However, the band are still hard at work on a brand new album, with Daltrey revealing that the new record “is turning out really much better than I ever thought it could be.”
During their Wembley performance, The Who did give fans a taste of new material. While Pete Townshend debuted a new track titled ‘Guantanamo’, the band also showed off ‘Hero Ground Zero’ for the first time.
Although there’s no word when or if The Who will return to Australia for the first time since 2009, fans are undoubtedly hoping they’ll get a chance to see the classic rockers live on stage before Roger Daltrey’s voice is gone for good.
