Led by alternative songstress Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), the newest announcement also features Tania Doko, and Alfie Arcuri. Arcuri took out the top gong in 2016’s season five of The Voice.

Doko cut her teeth in revered pop duo Bachelor Girl. “This is one of those unplanned, didn’t-see-this-coming little chapters in my career, I’m embracing with a sense of adventure and excitement. Then, as a songwriter performing a song I co-wrote, there’s the icing on the cake right there,” she comments.

Hooper has had to steer away from her alt-rock roots for Eurovision. She states “It’s very exciting to be involved in anything that is the first of its kind, and in recent years I have become more and more fascinated with Eurovision.” She adds, “I’m hoping to bring a bit of traditional rock ‘n’ roll energy to a bombastic performance of a meaningful pop song.”

These three artists join Courtney Act, Aydan, Mark Vincent, Leaa Nan0s, Sheppard, Kate Miller-Heidke and Electric Fields.

The official Eurovision – Australia Decides takes place on the Gold Coast from 8-9 February, and will be broadcasted on SBS. The winner will represent Australia in Israel at the global singing contest in May.
