When the dust settles, and crackles under the turn-of-the-century stylus, Jack White will have one of the most interesting, varied, and — frankly, bonkers — discography of any popular musician of the modern era.
His latest project, The American Epic Sessions, is a film and soundtrack where modern artists (or, ya know, Elton John) replicate old-timey production and recording techniques to create new music.
White has released a sneak-peek of the film, which airs tomorrow on PBS in the U.S., wherein Elton John and Jack White improvise a new blues tunes based on lyrics written by Elton’s long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin.
Third Man Records will release The American Epic Sessions on vinyl on June 16.
