Do you think you’ve got the guts to sneak past security guards and alarm systems just to break into the house of legendary rapper Eminem? Well, one mate did, and he was caught by the Rap God himself, right in his living room.

Eminem’s been in the headlines a lot recently. He donated bowls of his Mom’s Spaghetti to Detroit hospitals, is even auctioning off a pair of coveted Jordan’s to benefit the COVID-19 relief efforts, and has talked about his experience with quarantine.

Now, he’s back in the headlines again, but this time it’s for catching a home intruder who broke into his Michigan home.

According to The Detroit News, in early April, Eminem was jolted awake by the sound of his alarm blaring through the house. As he moseyed his way to his living room, he was confronted by the accused intruder, 27-year-old Matthew David Hughes who allegedly threw a brick through a door window in the kitchen, before making his way inside and onto the living room.

The incident occurred at 4:00AM, and despite security detail protecting the famed rappers gated mansion in Detroit suburb Rochester Hills, the suspect chose to enter through the back of the property, evading guards.

Then, that’s where Hughes and Eminem met each other. No, this wasn’t a fan meet-and-greet – Hughes was quickly grabbed by his security guards who heard the commotion that was happening inside.

Suspect Hughes was taken into custody, and arraigned on April 20th, charged with first-degree home invasion, as well as malicious destruction of property – equaling up to 25 years of felony charges.
