E^ST (aka the talented Melissa Bester) has dropped a poptastic new track titled ‘I WANNA BE HERE’ ahead of releasing her debut album I’M DOING IT.

The Aussie talent announced that a new track was coming in a post to Instagram last week which simply read, “Hello! I’ve been pretty quiet but I’m here to tell u another song is coming”.

Produced by Jim Eliot – who counts fellow pop queens Halsey, Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue as some of his previous collaborations – E^ST said that her new tune came during a period in which she was struggling.

“I wrote this song at a really difficult time in my life, and it’s almost like I wrote the song that I needed to hear,” she said.

“This song is about realising that just because life feels impossible, that doesn’t mean that it is impossible… And that as long as you’re trying something, there’s always hope.”

E^ST’s debut album, which is set to drop July 31st, “tells the story of finding yourself after the collapse of a relationship” and will see the muso examine themes of “romance, mental health, adulthood, self-esteem and the struggles of navigating your early 20’s”.

E^ST has previously supported artists such as Panic! At The Disco and Twenty One Pilots on tour, and has written for everyone from Noah Cyrus to Nicole Millar.

With a whopping 60 million streams to her name before her debut album has even dropped, E^ST has truly cemented her position at the forefront of Australia’s alt-pop scene.

In fact, her chilling performance of The Verve’s ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ on triple j’s Like A Version raked in 2.5 million views alone.

“Whoaaa still can’t believe I got to do this haha! Thank you so much triple j for having me! So humbled by the experience, and I had so much fun doing it. I hope you guys like it,” she wrote on Facebook at the time.

‘I WANNA BE HERE’ is available on all platforms now.
