Apparently Fatboy Slim has a bit of competition as his 10-year-old daughter has taken to Facebook to stream her first DJ set as Fat Girl Slim.

Clad in Fatboy Slim’s signature smiley face t-shirt, Nelly Cook, daughter of famed DJ Norman Quentin Cook, streamed her very first DJ set, stylising herself to be Fat Girl Slim. Why? Because according to her, “being in lockdown and quarantine is very, very boring.”

Featured as part of Camp Bestival’s Stay At Home Easter Sleepover, the young, budding DJ started off her stream by saying that she was going to be “doing a 40 minute DJ set” with some “upbeat tunes which will hopefully brighten up your afternoon.”

Featuring several thrilling mixes, some including herself doing spoken word intervals that state “this is all wrong,” the entire stream also has pop-in performances from her father, including Norman donning several masks, as well as doing dancing that Fat Girl Slim chocks up to be “bad dad dancing” followed with a sign saying, “sorry”.

Clearly showing that no matter how famous your dad is, you can still be embarrassed by your parents, Nelly pushed her father out of the shot numerous times while laughing, and made sure to keep things real during her entire performance.

“Nelly has watched me DJ for all of her 10 years on the planet,” father Norman stated, “and one day thought, ‘How hard can this be?'” Well, considering she maintained a constant set for nearly an hour in total, only utilising her dad a handful of times for a few quick pointers, (and of course to take a break for a sip of water), we’d say she was on the right track.
