Bohemian Rhapsody certainly seems to have kicked off a newfound enthusiasm for the music flick, and others like Rocketman and Yesterday have arrived hot on its heels – this despite its depiction of Queen’s career, and Freddie Mercury’s life, stretching the definition of ‘biographical’.

But while most music films aim to dramatise the lives of the musicians in question, Blinded By The Light is taking a different approach: using the music of Bruce Springsteen as a plot device instead, as it tells a story entirely separate from the life of ‘The Boss’.
