By the end of every week there are a bunch of music-related stories, cool links, videos, and other internet ditties that are a little on the trashy side.

As a remedy to this, we’re happy to introduce our new column Trash Can– our avenue for sharing the funny, the weird, and the downright tacky music stories of the week. Enjoy!

Russian Police Choir “Get Lucky”

Russia’s official police choir exploded onto the internet earlier this week with a quirky cover of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and it’s actually pretty good. Choral covers of pop songs are always quick to go viral (see PS22 – the super cute children’s choir that absolutely nailed ‘Lisztomania’) but there’s something about the sheer awkwardness of this that makes it stand out. We’re not sure if all of them really understand what they’re singing, or what this has to do with the military in any way, but who cares? Full military gear + dazzling falsetto + untamed smoke machine + a conductor that’s essentially one giant awkwardly lingering dad = a perfect Friday afternoon snack.

Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill Becoming Broadway Musical

For some, this news may be a little hard to swallow, but Alanis Morissette is currently in the process of having her Grammy award winning album Jagged Little Pill turned into a Broadway musical. Following in the footsteps of Green Day’s American Idiot (and produced by the same guy, Vivek J. Tiwary), Morissette is said to be writing alongside Tom Kitt, who penned Ghost: The Musical back in 2011 . You’d think we oughta know about the plot (and it’s all we really want), but details are yet to be released. Hopefully it’s nothing too ironic.

Taylor Swift Covered Eminem. It’s Uncomfortable.

In what might be the most embarrassing thing to happen ever, Taylor Swift covered Eminem’s 2002 hit Lose Yourself live on US radio. While this sort of behaviour is appropriate in the privacy of your own home and occasionally at late night karaoke, such activities should NOT be publicly broadcasted. It feels uncomfortable to be a person after listening to this, let’s hope it never happens again. Watch above, but be warned, this will inevitably ruin your day/week/life.

Of Course Lady Gaga Has A Flying Dress

In what actually might be a step back for modern aerodynamics, Lady Gaga the week debuted “VOLANTIS” the world’s first flying dress to an eager crowd at her artRave on November 10 . Well, if by dress you mean weird plastic body in a circular cage and by flying you mean sort of hovering above the ground and moving few feet, sure. Gaga, who recently announced she was to perform the first ever gig in space consistently creepily referred to the dress/thing as “she” while cooing “Hopefully, one day you’ll own a Volantis of your own”… No. We really won’t. See the whole glorious flight above.

78-Year-Old Glasto Organiser Strips For Charity

If you’ve ever wondered what 78 year old Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis looked like naked, it really is your lucky day. For the rest of us, the result is sadly not as fun. The event organiser, alongside other “Legends Of Somerset” (including Chris Jagger, brother of Mick) posed for photographer Jason Bryant’s 2014 nude calendar. The calendar features mostly balding men over fifty, and it’s a real, ah, treat. Eavis is pictured hiding behind a rather small pair of denim cut offs in front of the festivals iconic stone circle. Why? Why why why why why :(
