The Festival Of The Sun 2013 has sold out, just four weeks out from this year’s ‘Black Friday’ edition featuring an all-Aussie lineup, featuring the likes of You Am I, The Rubens, Kingswood, Glass Towers and more.

Tickets to the boutique music festival, now entering its ninth year, have been snapped up in record time, with all 3,000 tickets for the event – to be held Friday 13th and Saturday 14th December – now completely exhausted having since gone on sale in early September shortly after revealing the full Festival of the Sun 2013 lineup.

“We are overwhelmed with the response that Festival of the Sun has received this year,” said the event’s programmer Scott Mesiti of the sell-out. “A massive thank you to our loyal fans – it would not be possible without your ongoing support and we’ll be working really hard to ensure you have the best time ever!”

To further show their appreciation at sold out signs officially going up, FOTSUN organisers are partnering with Bondi live music venue, the Beach Road Hotel, to present a warm-up party on Saturday 30th November, where punters can catch a slice of the FOTSUN 2013 lineup in action.

Sydney new folkies and J Unearthed 2013 Award nominees Tigertown will headline the FOTSUN warm up party, joined by Gang Of Brothers and Set Sail, all performing for free with the event kicking off at 8pm.

All three acts will also among the full compliment of Australian talent wrangled together for the full Festival Of The Sun lineup, taking over the single to provide the soundtrack among the picturesque surrounds of the Port Macqaurie seaside.

Topping the Festival Of The Sun 2013 lineup is the invincible You Am I, who continue their stellar live run after finishing up their Daily Double tour, playing their classic early albums Hourly, Daily and Hi Fi Way live in their entirety.

Joining the Aussie rock headliners are the swaggering soul of The Rubens, Ash Grunwald – who will be playing with his Gargantua outfit of Scott & Andy from The Living End – Adelaide’s humorous and hairy The Beards, Melbourne rockers Kingswood, and Stonefield, with the Findlay sisters rocking tunes from their anticipated, self-titled debut album.

All will be helping take part in the Black Friday theme for Festival Of The Sun 2013, meaning costume options based on a Mexican-style day of the dead, Halloween get-up, face-paint wigs, and the usual animal onesies too – you name it – while a prize will be handed out to the best FOTSUN festival-goers.

“When we found out that this year’s FOTSUN was to fall on the notorious Friday 13th, we knew immediately what we had to do,” said the festival’s Mr Mesiti back in May of the spooky theme.
