Trigger warning: this article discusses assault
‘Trap Queen’ rapper Fetty Wap has been sued by a woman for an assault that allegedly happened in June 2019.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the plaintiff claims that Fetty Wap — real name Willie Junior Maxwell II— strangled and punched her at his Los Angeles home. The suit details that “near the end of the night, (she) made an off-the-cuff comment to her friend about the party that Fetty Wap overheard. Fetty Wap immediately approached (her) and aggressively placed his face directly to (her) face while threatening to harm her. He then pressed his finger on her forehead and forcefully pushed her head back.”
The suit alleges that the altercation then escalated, and Maxwell “violently grabbed Plaintiff by her throat and strangled her.
“While still choking her, (Fetty) forcefully pushed Plaintiff against a window and threatened Plaintiff by saying “I’ll kill you.”
Footage reportedly shot in the aftermath of the altercation has been obtained by TMZ. In the video, a woman filming accuses the rapper of assaulting her, to which he responds by swinging and knocking the woman’s phone out of her hand.
The plaintiff reportedly “continues to suffer from extreme distress, humiliation, indignation, and outrage as a result of Fetty Wap’s intoxicated and violent conduct.”
