Just because winter is coming doesn’t mean live music is hibernating in Australia, we’ve of course got Splendour In The Grass and the new festival that is taking over an entire town to look forward in the colder months, but perhaps the most exciting of all is Tasmania’s Dark Mofo.
Held at the incredible Hobart art gallery MONA, Dark Mofo is once again set to charm punters from around the nation with its brilliantly curated arts and music lineup, there has already been two performing artists announced.
Playing two sets on Tuesday 16 June and Wednesday 17 June at Odeon Theatre, Antony and the Johnsons with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra will deliver back-to-back exclusive performances in Hobart a part of the winter festival.

Antony and the Johnsons are internationally celebrated for their artistic integrity as well as their influence in challenging social norms; something that Dark Mofo also encourages in its contemporary take on ancient Bacchanalian rites.
English-born transgender artist Antony Hegarty was raised in Amsterdam and San Francisco before moving to New York City at the age of 19, co-founding the performance collective Blacklips and spending several years developing her voice and ideas on late-night stages around New York City, eventually gaining international critical acclaim.
In addition to this, doom metal outfit Pallbearer are bound for the Tassie festival, the heavy-hitters riding high from their 2014 release Foundations of Burden, and only just dropped their killer vid for ‘Watcher In The Dark’.
The full Dark Mofo lineup is set for release this Friday 10 April, stay tuned for all future updates and click here to register for pre-sale tickets.
