A full Flying Lotus Australian Tour 2014 has been announced.

Following on from the visionary avant-electronic artist and producer being announced as part of the Golden Plains 2014 lineup and presenting a standalone show at the Sydney Opera House, with the debut of spectacular audio/visual show, Layer 3, Flying Lotus is now confirmed for a full Australian Tour that also takes in headline shows in Brisbane, Perth, and Melbourne.

The additional Melbourne and Brisbane shows are presented by The Operatives, the collective of multi-talented musicians and curators of the clandestine Espionage gigs. Next year sees The Operatives celebrating their 10th Anniversary, including bringing Flying Lotus’ inimitable live show to Brisbane’s Hi-Fi, Perth’s Astor Theatre, and Melbourne’s Forum Theatre.

Flying Lotus will present his 3D spectacular, Layer 3 – which debuted at the Let Them Eat Cake festival in Melbourne last year and now on version 3.0 – to Australian audiences once more.

FlyLo, real name Steven Ellison, has described Layer 3 as a sensory spectacular that will take audiences on a head-spinning journey through his four critically acclaimed albums of video-game futurism and sci-fi classics, transforming the Concert Hall into a Kubrick-like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Following a year of high-end collaborations with Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt, Kendrick Lamar and a curated soundtrack for the billion-selling Grand Theft Auto V, FlyLo’s mind-blowing audiovisual performance transforms his catalogue of roof-raising bass and cinematic beauty into the ultimate real-life video-game fantasy, live on stage. Joining Flying Lotus as support for his Australian Tour 2014 are Operatives’ favourites Kutmah and Om Unit.

Kutmah grew up in Hollywood, California and ultimately made a name for himself as a talented underground artist and DJ. Intrinsic member of eclectic Los Angeles-based music collective ‘Dublab’, in 2004 Kutmah launched the seminal club ‘Sketchbook’, which forged fundamental foots of the now-infamous LA beat scene.

Over the past four years, Om Unit (the alias of Jim Coles) has established himself as one of the most consistent and original artists in the electronic sphere. Based in London, Om Unit has been crafting music since his early teens, beginning with jungle before graduating via the world of turntablism under the 2Tall moniker and representing the UK in the DMC world DJ championships.

Don’t miss what will be some of the most talked about shows of the year, as Layer 3 blows minds, ears, and music stages with the Flying Lotus Australian Tour 2014.
