The full Golden Plains 2014 lineup has been announced, and while the lucky ticket-holders for this December’s Meredith Music Festival are getting their plans sorted, right on time, its sister event is ready to roll into action.

Following on from announcing the opening of the all-important ticket ballot and the first artist of the Golden Plains 2014 lineup, the full roster of acts headed to the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre for next year’s edition of the annual festival has been announced.

Having already been announced, one of hip hop’s most iconic, important, and influential acts, Public Enemy, will ‘Bring The Noise’ to Aunty Meredith and her Golden Plains acolytes, joining them on the Golden Plains 2014 lineup will be the likes of You Am I, Flying Lotus, Neko Case, The Drones, Yo La Tengo, Cut Copy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and many more.

Sitting at the top of the Golden Plains 2014 lineup is Aussie rock royalty, You Am I, who are capping an enormous year that’s seen them performing their legendary early albums, 1995′s Hi-Fi Way and 1996′s Hourly, Dailylive and in full as part of the Daily Double Tour, receiving rave reviews across the country; so expect similarly heroic antics at The ‘Sup.

A modern master, Flying Lotus blends an avant-garde spirit and generations of music – from jazz to hip hop and electronica – in a stunning musical mix, and for Golden Plains, FlyLo (to his friends and GTA V fans) will bring his 3D 3.0 audio/visual spectacular – an Australian first.

Other international elite located at the business end of the Golden Plains 2014 lineup include alt-country renegade and New Pornographer, Neko Case, off the back of her latest spellbinding effort, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love YouNew Zealand’s party starting seven-piece and dub-global phenomenon Fat Freddy’s Drop, soul survivor Charles Bradley with his band The Extraordinaires, and indie veterans Yo La Tengo, returning to Australia for GP next Autumn following their just-wrapped appearance for Melbourne Festival.

As always, Aunty Meredith has gathered the best of the best of the Australian music scene to The ‘Sup. Golden Plains 2014 will welcome with hearty applause the likes of Cut Copy, in their first major Australian festival appearance following the release of their much-anticipated new album, Free Your Mind, one of this country’s finest live acts, The Drones, the $50,000 richer King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, as well as chilltronica luminary Chet Faker, queen of rock Adalita, historic punk purists Cosmic Psychos, the esteemed electronica of Seekae, and the international-storming future soul-funk warriors, Hiatus Kaiyote.

Also providing a golden Autumn soundtrack as part of the Golden Plains 2014 lineup will be the tasteful sounds of Gold Panda, the funkified action of Osaka Monaurail, Spanish surf rockers Los Coronas, swamp rock desperados SixFtHick, folk storytellers The Orbweavers, otherworldly music-maker Tornado Wallace, as well as Mark Pritchard, Archer and the Long Gone Daddies, The Perch Creek Family Jugband, and a special set from Andras Fox with producing/performing co-conspirator Oscar Key Sung.

The all-important ticket ballot has already begun, but remains open to all-comers until 10pm, Monday 28th October, to sign up head to www.goldenplains.com.au and follow the prompts.

There’s only the one type of ticket: the full three-day Golden Plains experience (Saturday to Monday with camping and parking) for $319 + $10 (b/f), and a ticket gets you so much more than just three days worth of music from a gloriously eclectic and lovingly selected lineup.

The Meredith integrity remains – same number of people as last year, no commercial sponsors, BYO; plenty of Time and Space for everyone, the No D!ckhe@ds rule, and one stage to ensure you miss nothing and experience everything.

Now entering its eighth year, Golden Plains “has already become the worthiest of companions to Aunty Meredith’s main, year-end event,” as our Tone Deaf reviewers wrote of this year’s Golden Plains Lucky Seven. And what better way to spend the long weekend than in one of the best places on Earth with friends and lovers. The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre has been natured and nurtured on twenty-two years of knuckled-down know-how, for the singular purpose of hosting Something Uniquely Remarkable.

Or in the words of Flavor Flav of Golden Plains 2014 lineup headliners Public Enemy: “YEEEAAAHHH BOOOOOIII!”
