Well, we knew it had to be coming soon, and now Foo Fighters have confirmed they will be releasing a new studio album, Concrete and Gold, on September 15.

The band released the single ‘Run’ a few weeks ago, a ferocious song with a hilarious clip to boot. They then previewed new material at various gigs, making it clear a new record was on the cards.

The band recorded with Greg Kurstin, who has produced everyone from Sum 41 to Adele.

Grohl thought it’d be interesting to work with a guy who has produced albums by Pink and Sia.

“I think maybe Greg is the guy that we ask to be our producer, because he’s never made a heavy rock record before and we’ve never worked with a pop producer,” Grohl explained.

“Our noise and Greg’s big brain and all of his sophisticated arrangements and composition.”

Sounds like a great combo to us – although it’s not as if Grohl is adverse to a sweet pop tune.
