Last night, Foo Fighters played an intimate show to a fully vaccinated crowd at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California.
During their performance at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California, Foo Fighters took the time to perform a cover of Queen’s classic love ballad, ‘Somebody to Love’.
For the performance, Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl switched roles, with Hawkins stepping up to the mic to sing the track. As reported by Rolling Stone, the swap can be seen in full effect, with Grohl on drums.
In the video, Hawkins shares how he suggested that the band covered a Queen song for the concert, with the response largely being skepticism. But for Grohl, he said, “Maybe we can.”
Outside the performance, a handful of people gathered in protest of the show’s COVID vaccination policy. Armed with signs that read, “Foo Fighters fight to bring segregation back” and “Vaccines cause injury and death.” And as reported by Variety note, ’80s star Ricky Schroder was spotted at the scene.
Later this month, the band are set to perform at Madison Square Garden. However, not under the circumstances that many had hoped for.
The show will mark the venue’s first since March last year, with the gig reportedly due to go ahead at full capacity, with no masks required to be worn. This is on the grounds that whoever attends must the show must show proof that they have had two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
