In 2018 it’s never been easier to catch a glimpse behind the scenes of what our favourite musicians do away from the stage.

The likes of Twitter & Instagram give fans constant access to their idols, but when artists shy away from those forms of communication it often increases the mystique surrounding their brand and personality.

Such was the case with everyone’s favourite sad-boi soul crooner Frank Ocean….until today when he took the monumental (by his standards) move of switching his Instagram account to the public.

The mastermind behind Blonde for so long had captured our minds and imaginations with the amount he chose not to reveal. What did someone with a song as beautiful as Pink & White, or brooding as Facebook Story do in the big, wide, scary offline world?

The answer? Take a hell of a lot of carefully curated selfies….just like the rest of us.

Update: Frank Ocean uses white bath towels

With well over a year’s worth of archaeological filtered documentation now at the ready for scrollers around the world, a whizz down the Ocean wall finds all manner of funky hairstyles, topless poses and edgy, aesthetically pleasing yet totally confusing gram “art”.

Ocean has depth

To be fair, shots with artists like SZA, Ciara and Tyler, The Creator are pretty damn fine additions to the wall, as well as various views of the singer’s beautifully minimalist home.

Decour game 8/10

It’s been a while since we had any new music from him, but at least now we can see Ocean post-workout on our phones.

Start your weekend right by sliding into the Frank Ocean DM’s here.
