Frenzal Rhomb have announced 2019 Download Festival sideshows

After being announced on Download Festival’s first lineup, Aussie punk icons Frenzal Rhomb have just announced the sideshows that “no one was particularly waiting for”.

Over the last few weeks, the Download Festival sideshows have been gradually trickling in. While iconic groups like Slayer and Alice In Chains, have all announced Aussie headline shows, a bunch of other international acts have also announced local dates.

Now, Frenzal Rhomb have announced their own Download Festival sideshows in a typically-irreverent Facebook post.

“Download Festival Australia hits Melbourne and Sydney next March, and while heavy music fans Australia-wide wait for the international headliners to announce gigs near them,” they wrote on Facebook.

“Australia’s punk rock also-rans Frenzal Rhomb have inexplicably decided to play some shows in Adelaide, Perth and Fremantle, to near-universal exclamations of ‘why?’ and ‘what about Alice In Chains?’”

“Greg from Subiaco, wearing a Ghost shirt and reportedly fighting back tears said he’d probably go but ‘only coz Jay Frenzal kind of looks like Papa Emeritus II except with sick dreads’.”

Kicking off on February 15th in Adelaide, Frenzal are set to hit up Perth and Fremantle over the following two nights, bringing their famously frenetic live shows to fans in South and Western Australia.
