Brisbane’s Future Haunts have unveiled their fiery, sun-kissed new single ‘Far Away’, a blistering ode to distance. The track arrives alongside the announcement of the band’s forthcoming second EP, Rushmore slated for a 2020 release.

On ‘Far Away’, Future Haunts are in their finest form, weaving intricate guitar work and driving rhythms together in a glimmering showcase. The track drives along with a sense of urgency throughout it, leading up to an unrestrained fury.

Vocalist and guitarist Ben Speight explains, “‘Far Away’ takes a dive into themes of distance and being away from your loved ones for a long time. It’s about being stuck halfway around the world and not being able to connect with your surroundings. I wrote it when I was trapped in an airport delayed for an entire day with nowhere to go, nobody to talk to and so close yet far away from home.”

The immersive new offering is the third slice of Future Haunts’ forthcoming second EP, Rushmore which will see the light of day in 2020. Self-recorded by the band at Plutonium Studios and mixed by Miro Mackie (St. Vincent, Hatchie, DZ Deathrays). The EP will also feature previous singles, ‘Weather Vane’ and ‘Fall In Line’ which we’ve been hooked on ever since their individual releases earlier this year.
