Gerard Way, the author and comic book whiz, has been hard at work in delivering the newest volume his successful series, The Umbrella Academy.

The news came from the My Chemical Romance frontman himself, who was celebrating the long-awaited release of The Umbrella Academy Volume 3: Hotel Oblivion. First announced way back in 2009, there were creative obstacles and life obstacles that got in the way but in all, it’s contributed to this fine-tuned, final result.

“Coincidentally, I just started volume four,” Way posted to Instagram.

“Hopefully it won’t be too long before a new issue hits the stand, seeing as how [Hotel Oblivion] ends on a major cliffhanger.”

Now three volumes in, Way’s sci-fi series has become even more successful since it was adapted for TV via its Netflix series this year. A second season is in the works after its debut run was an acclaimed addition to the Netflix roster, starring Ellen Page, Tom Hopper and Mary J. Blige.
