From the 90s movie, New Jack City, the villain was Nino Brown, my real name is Nino. I wanted a DJ name that I could find samples of in movies and music to scratch, and no one else was using it – so I took it!

How would you describe your music to your grandma?

That was always a hard one, my very old Italian Grandmother always thought my music sucked hahaha ” la musica Rap”.

Tell us about a few of your tracks; their titles and what they’re about?

All my tracks have different vibes, depending on what I’m playing and feeling at the time. My latest single ‘Meriton’ with Audemarr is about partying at the Meriton, and the musical vibe sets the tone for the party. ‘Wana Act Like’, my collab with Arona Mane was about people just being themselves and being happy! ‘Summertime’ with Eco $ystem was a feel good summer banger!

What do you love about your hometown?

I’m from Sydney, always inner city, and I feel like there’s so much energy in the city, even when it’s quiet – Sydney City is just so dope with all the small streets and the vibe is always electric.

Career highlight so far?

Touring with Eminem on the Rapture 2019 Tour. I’ve done so many tours with artists and festivals, but nothing compared to the energy or level of Rapture 2019, we had over 86k people at the Melbourne Cricket Ground which was a record.

Fave non-music hobby?

Collecting and wearing sneakers… some people never wear theirs! I love fashion in general.

What’s on your dream rider?

Damn… maybe a McDonalds sundae machine that always worked :)

Dream music collaboration?

I would love to collab with Pusha T, and the right Australian artist who would suit the track.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I’ll be making more music and touring even more! I love this sh#t !

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Red Hot Chill Peppers – Under The Bridge.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Never be shy to talk about money – always take care of business first – then enjoy the art/show!

What’s one obsession you have that no one would guess after listening to your music?

I’m obsessed with my chilli garden!
