Goldfinger have spent most of the past decade playing nostalgia shows with names like ‘Emo Night’ or ‘Ska Trek’; basically operating as a musical vehicle for singer John Feldmann, who has been trading in and out various members as he sees fit.

Now Feldmann is releasing the first record under the Goldfinger name since 2008’s Hello Destiny, and he has enlisted MXPX bassist Mike Herrera, Story of the Year guitarist Philip “Moon Valjean” Sneed, and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker – just in case you were in any doubt that all these SoCal punk dudes still hang out at the skate park.

The new album is called The Knife, and will be released in skate stores and on Spotify on July 21.

Check out the new single below – it’s not very ska, for those casual I-like-that-Tony Hawk-song fans, but it is a furious blast of pop punk, with a hooky chorus. Isn’t that enough for you kids?
