Gorillaz’ set at Roskilde festival in Denmark on Saturday was cut short after the band’s rapper, Del the Funky Homosapien fell from the stage. The band were in the middle of playing their defining anthem ‘Clint Eastwood’ when Del emerged onto the stage to do his verse, taking a misstep and falling off.

After the incident occurred, the performance quickly came to an end with Damon Albarn telling the crowd, “Thanks for a beautiful evening.”

The band and festival have elaborated on the incident in a recent in a recent statement posted to social media, saying “One of the Gorillaz artists, Del the Funky Homosapien, fell unfortunate from the stage during the last number of Gorillaz’ concert,” it reads. “He was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation.”

Del quickly responded by saying, “Thank you all for the love! I’m doing alright but will be in the hospital for a bit, the care here is outstanding though. Much love to @gorillaz for having me out and I’ll be back soon yall”.

Gorillaz recently released their follow up to 2017’s Humanz just a few weeks ago, debuting the entire album live at a performance The Boiler Room in Tokyo, Japan.

The album features collaborations with Snoop Dogg, George Benson and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, and it was rumoured that Australian producer Flume would have hand in the record, however, he does not show up on the album’s credits.
