Fresh out the gate, Greta Stanley reminds us how good songwriting is sometimes all we need to get through.

While things are a bit weird right now, new music has proven to be a shining light for us all bunking down in various stages of self-isolation. Thankfully, we’ve got artists like Greta Stanley on deck to provide the goods, particularly with the recent release of her new single, ‘Soak Into This’.

For her first release of the year, the singer from Far North Queensland returns armed with an engaging track that shows off some refreshing indie influences that have carried over from her 2019 EP Sun In My Eyes.

Co-written and produced by Tobias Kuhn (Milky Chance, Dean Lewis), ‘Soak Into This’ keeps Greta’s distinctive delivery well in check as she explores a more pop-leaning territory.

“Tobias was so friendly and hilarious,” Stanley has said of working with Kuhn. “We had an instant connection with our love of music. It felt like working with a friend and therefore, everything felt so natural.”

The essence of what made her earlier material so striking is still there, that’s for sure. With more on the way from the songwriter and performer, ‘Soak Into This’ is a fitting jump-off point.

“It’s about having fun and the exciting feeling you get when you enter a new relationship, whether it’s romantic or a friendship.” she says of the single.”I wrote it thinking about all the fun I’d been having in my new relationship, the nights out with friends, festivals…but then the slow and more intense moments [are] where you really feel something growing.”
