I can’t fully grasp the concept of ROI or other financial jargon, but every part of me tells me that this is a good investment. Grimes is offering to sell her soul for $15 million, or the next best offer.

The musician announced that she would be selling a percentage of her soul as part of her first online fine-art show, Selling Out. Before dabbling in the world of creating incredible pop music and using her baby as a vehicle for social clout, Grimes was a visual artist.

The Selling Out exhibition will see the musician sell drawings, prints, photographs and conceptual work she’s been chipping away at over the past decade. “I made art 10, 12 years before I ever touched a keyboard,” she revealed in an interview with “I see myself as a visual artist first and foremost, and I’ve always felt strange that people know me for music.”

The works will set you back $500 for an art print, $2,000 – $3,000 for an ink-on-paper drawing, or between $5,000 and $15,000 for a digital artwork.

If you’re less interested in owning a piece of Grimes art, and more interested in the real estate of her soul, read on.

Selling Out is executed as a contract in which Grimes sells a fraction of her soul, formalizing the idea that every time an artist sells a piece of their art, part of the soul is sold with it,” a press release explains.

“The purchaser will enter into a contractual agreement that outlines the terms of ownership and ultimately the connection to the joy of artistic expression.”

Grimes initially valued the percentage of her soul up for auction for USD $10 million, but has since lowered the asking price to next best offer.

“I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell,” she explains.

So there you have it. If anyone is after a soul but doesn’t have a spare few million lying around, I am offering mine up for much, much cheaper.
