This is the first new track we’ve heard from Boucher since her nu-metal tinged comeback single, ‘We Appreciate Power’, and the demo for the track ‘Pretty Dark.’ Earlier this year she featured on Bring Me The Horizon track ‘nihilist blues’, from their sixth studio record, amo.

It is unclear if ‘Violence’ will feature on her forthcoming record Miss_Anthrop0cene.

Miss_Anthrop0cene is set to arrive later this year, it’ll mark Grimes’ first full-length since 2015’s Art Angels.

Back in July, Grimes and sustainable fashion trailblazer Stella McCartney unveiled a new collaboration. In an Instagram post announcing the collab, Boucher detailed her strenuous and absurd wellness regime. The most confronting revelation in the post was the startling confession that Grimes removed part of her eyeball to “cure seasonal depression.”

“I have also eliminated all blue light from my vision through an experimental surgery that removes the top film of my eyeball and replaces it with an orange ultra-flex polymer that my friend and I made in the lab this past winter as a means to cure seasonal depression,” the post read.
