As an international pandemic rages on, the majority of the world has implemented strict rules about wearing face masks before entering their premises. On the other end of the spectrum, we have a controversial Australian guitar shop, The Guitar Exchange in Queenland’s Morayfield, who have just thrown us all a curveball by banning masked customers from entering their shop.
The Guitar Exchange has a blunt message for potential shoppers (a message they probably should have popped through Grammarly, or at least done a spell check on).
“No masks permitted in this store,” the sign begins in capital letters.
“Your body makes particles when you are healing. They are not contagious,” it continues, and… what did I just read?
“If you are fragile and believe you need to wear a mask, do not enter,” it concludes.

As expected (and probably deserved, TBH), they’ve copped a massive amount of flack for their stance in the midst of the pandemic. The store has kept quiet on Facebook, with their last post appearing on December 24th, 2020 which has since received an influx of (mainly sarcastic because, Australia) comments.
“Hello, yes, I’d like to exchange this guitar for my will to live. Queensland Police Service, Queensland Health, we have a problem,” one user wrote.
“Hello! I have $600,000 to spend on guita- oh wait I just realised I’m too fragile to shop here. My greatest apologies for wasting your time,” another user added.
“So with crew and musicians being out of work for most of the year, more festivals being cancelled over the last couple of days, these dealers in musical instruments are quite happy to let it rip. No self-respecting muso will go near you now!” Another user validly points out.
This one is also a doozy: “I’d pay good money to see the social media guy’s face tomorrow when he logs on to this account lmao,” and, same.
Honestly, if we shared all of the classic responses we’d be here all day, so check some of them out for yourself below:
