Hayley Williams has unveiled the official music video for “Parachute”, the standout track from her third solo album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.

The visual arrives as the track continues to dominate streaming platforms and social media, accumulating over 4 million streams on Spotify while at the same time generating countless TikTok edits and Reddit discussions.

Directed, filmed, and edited by Zachary Gray, who also photographed the album cover art and helmed the title track’s music video, the “Parachute” visual presents Williams in a kaleidoscope of movement and colour.

The video captures the singer spinning through a darkened room, channelling her emotional release through dance as the song’s poignant lyrics unfold around her.

The production took Williams across international borders, with portions filmed in the UK. “Special thank you to Bristol Northern Soul Club for letting us crash your party,” Williams acknowledged on Instagram.

“Parachute” represents the third music video from Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, following the release of visuals for both “Glum” and the album’s title track. The “Glum” video, co-directed by Paramore’s Zac Farro alongside AJ Gibboney, was shot on 35mm Kodak film, whilst the title track received an old-school, camcorder-inspired treatment released in early August.

The album itself followed an unconventional release strategy, with Williams initially dropping the project as 17 separate singles throughout July before the official full album release on August 28th.

Beyond her solo endeavours, Williams has expanded her collaborative reach through partnerships with established artists. She recently contributed to David Byrne’s latest album Who Is the Sky? and also joined the rock icon for Netflix’s Roald Dahl adaptation The Twits soundtrack.

In other Williams news, the musician recently addressed growing speculation about Paramore’s future, confirming the band are just taking a break rather than calling it quits permanently.

Williams clarified the band’s status during a recent interview with The Face, stating they are currently on a break but have not broken up. “Do we ever know where we’re at?! We always take huge breaks. In order for us to metabolise shit that we go through as people, it takes the amount of time it takes between albums,” Williams explained.
