So here’s the skinny, Radiohead are reconvening this September to start work on what will be their ninth studio album.
The confirmation comes straight from the mouth of Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood, who revealed the band’s plans to play, rehearse, and record material for the the follow-up to 2011’s The King Of Limbs in an interview with The Guardian. Greenwood then told The Sunday Times that he’s already emailing song ideas to Thom Yorke.
All of which is more than enough to get collective tongues wagging, while Radiohead fan site Citizen Insane has already gone several steps ahead and put together a prospective list of songs that could potentially wind up on the tracklisting of the Oxford quintet’s newest LP, as Consequence Of Sound points out.

It might seem like jumping the gun but Radiohead have a tendency to re-work unreleased music and refine older material for new releases. For instance, ‘Nude’ from 2007’s In Rainbows was a song the band had kicking around since before the days of 1997’s OK Computer, while The King of Limbs‘ ‘Morning Mr. Magpie’ was another decade-old idea finally committed to tape.
Additionally, Radiohead’s last world tour saw the band airing a swag of new material at shows across the globe (including new numbers sneaked into the sets of their 2012 visit to Australia).
