Violent Soho are in the middle of their nearly sold out Australian Tour, but the Brisbane grunge revivalists’ victory lap of the nation has been blighted by a petty thief. “Hell Fuck, No!”

Following playing to another packed crowd at Sydney’s Manning Bar last night, Violent Soho have put the call out to their fans to help track down the anonymous person who’s made with a piece of the band’s touring gear after frontman Luke Boerdam made his way into the audience.

“Attn: Sydney friends who were at the show,” write the band in a Facebook post. “Our singer Luke lost his belt pack receiver when he jumped in the crowd and someone has taken it home with them.”

The missing receiver, pictured below, “costs a lot of money so we’d really appreciate if you or someone you know has it if you could please give it back,” write the band.

“Please share this status if you think you can help and email [email protected] if you track it down. Thanks guys!”

Whether intentional or otherwise, the missing receiver is the latest in a string of music-related robberies in the last six months, with Melbourne seemingly being the focus of a growing trend of kleptomaniacs.

Just weeks ago, Melbourne locals The Annie Crooners put the call out for an online search to recover $17,000 worth of stolen gear, arriving not too long after reports of a theft inflicted upon Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, robbed of their own music gear and a priceless guitar. Then there’s the recent cases including a pair making off with a stack of vinyl from a Melbourne bar, Soundwave 2014′s Finnish rockers HIM being robbed at a Melbourne sideshow, and the recovery of a $25,000 guitar after being pinched from a music store.

In the meantime, Violent Soho are set to perform at Manning Bar tonight, closing their third sold out date in Sydney in a row, before heading to their native Brisbane to play more sold out dates with support from Melbourne’s The Smith Street Band (no strangers to petty robbers, themselves) and Tasmania’s Luca Brasi in tow. They then play Adelaide and conclude with three more sold out shows in Melbourne.

The national trek is in support of the band’s critically hailed 2013 album Hungry Ghost, which as previously reported, is getting a Stateside release via legendary punk label Side One Dummy! records, but only after the band had to re-record a censored version of ‘Covered In Chrome’, removing its signature catch-cry of ‘Hell Fuck Yeah!’ for the benefit of US radio’s delicate-eared listenership
