If there’s one scourge that’s looming over the heads of music festival punters in 2015, it’s the evil of gluten. Never fear, however, because the industry already has its best man on the job, and it’s none other than Soundwave founder AJ Maddah.

The festival boss recently took to his beloved Twitter account to share a life-changing revelation. “Turns out gluten intolerance is real,” wrote Maddah. “If you experience constant dull headaches & indigestion, go get it checked out. It’ll change your life.”

After a punter informed the mogul that his own flagship event was a perilous minefield for those living with the bane of coeliac disease, Maddah insisted that gluten-free food options would be a “massive priority next year”, adding, “You can be sure of that.”

“I have suffered for seven years and never suspected bread,” Maddah later revealed. “After three days on diet I feel tremendous.” This no doubt comes as good news for gluten-free punters who were hoping to hit up the forthcoming Soundwave instalment, which kicks off in January.

Taking a look at some of Maddah’s past tweets, it’s not like the promoter was oblivious to gluten. The promoter had previously assured concerned punters that Soundwave would cater to gluten-free punters as well as those intolerant to lactose.

However, it appears it’s now at the top of his agenda after discovering that he himself has been the victim of the woe hiding in the common bread loaf. Well, that and putting together an awesome lineup, which already appears to be underway.

Some other Soundwave 2016 surprises that have already been revealed include the launch of a new Soundwave membership program and the fact that we may receive that all-important lineup earlier than usual after Maddah tweeted that it would drop in July.
