Billie Eilish is coming off a year that few musicians, whether amateur or professional, could ever dream of having.
Her debut record When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? has made her a global superstar, with tours selling out in seconds and praise coming from the likes of Thom Yorke, Dave Grohl, and many, many more.
However, with such a platform comes the potential for exploitation, something Elish has revealed she’s aware of and wants to avoid.
“I have to wear a big shirt for you not to feel uncomfortable about my boobs!” she revealed in an interview with The New Yorker.

In the interview, she referred back to an incident in June where her boobs became a trending topic online after she was snapped meeting fans in a tank top.
“My boobs were at number one! What is that?! Every outlet wrote about my boobs!
“I was born with fucking boobs, bro. I was born with DNA that was gonna give me big-ass boobs….Someone with smaller boobs could wear a tank top, and I could put on that exact tank top and get slut-shamed because my boobs are big. That is stupid. It’s the same shirt!”

Eilish also noted the double standard that effects artists who do choose to show more of their figure, noting that if she wanted to follow that path when she turns 18 “I know people will say, ‘I’ve lost all respect for her.’
“What if I wanna make a video where I wanna look desirable?…not a porno! I know it would be a huge thing.
“I can’t win!”
