Paying homage to the greats while not sounding dated is a hard thing to accomplish, luckily Melbourne’s own Saskwatch are up to the challenge. Saskwatch are a 9-piece band that are sure to re-energise Australia’s soul scene. The band has got a busy summer coming up. Along with pumping out the jams at their usual residency at Cherry Bar’s Soul Night every Thursday, they’ll also be playing the Australasian World Music Expo and launching their latest 7” this month at The Worker’s Club.
Fronted by the amazing Nkechi Anele their single I Thought This Was Love stays true to their lively laid-back sound and should be a fixture on everyone’s IPods now that the weather is heating up, because let’s be honest; who doesn’t love a break-up song you can dance to?
