We’ve known Flume is a rapidly rising star for some time now. Easily one of the biggest homegrown musicians to come out of Australia in some time, Flume is also killing it overseas.

But you may not be aware of just how much he’s killing it. As it happens, the Sydney producer’s latest album, Skin, debuted at #8 on the Billboard Albums Chart.

Meanwhile, it’s entered the Dance/Electronic Albums chart at #1, making it the biggest electronic album in the US, claiming the highest first-week sales for the chart this year.

Skin has moved some 18,000 units Stateside in in its first week, beating out fellow producer Kygo, whose album Cloud Nine previously set the record by moving 17,000 units in June.

Skin has also racked up 6.8 million US streams this week, up 17 percent from the week before. It also sold 16,000 downloads in its first tracking week, hitting 204,000.

As well as a #8 debut on the Canadian albums chart, closer to home Skin debuted at #1 on the ARIA chart and his platinum collab with Tove Lo, ‘Say It’, is #5 on the singles chart.

He’s also looking healthy on the live front. Flume’s Skin tour of Australia kicks off in late November and the entire tour has already sold 230,000 tickets from 70 shows worldwide.

Not bad for a 24-year-old.
