Iron Maiden Announce Massive 2016 Australian Tour

After much anticipation, UK heavy metal legends Iron Maiden have announced the dates of their 2016 Australian national tour, which will see the band celebrating the release of their latest album, The Book Of Souls, which debuted at Number 2 earlier this month.

The band confirmed their Australian visit late last month in a statement posted to the official Iron Maiden website, in which they revealed they would visit 35 countries during a massive global tour, jetting from stop to stop in their brand new Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet, Ed Force One.

Iron Maiden’s May 2016 tour will see the band playing five arena shows around the country, taking in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth, with tickets set to go on sale to the general public at 12 noon local time on Thursday, 24th September.

As per usual, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for Iron Maiden Fan Club members, details of which can be found via the official Iron Maiden website. Fan Club members will also be eligible for the draw to be ’First To The Barrier’.

“We cannot wait to get back out on tour,” said frontman Bruce Dickinson. “We haven’t played in Australia and New Zealand for a number of years so it will be a pleasure to play for our Antipodean cousins again, irrespective of who wins the dates with destiny at Twickenham in a few weeks’ time!!”

“Of course we haven’t decided on the set list as yet and won’t until we start rehearsing but we really look forward to playing a number of new songs live, especially as the recording was so much live. However, as it’s been a while since we saw you all, I am sure we will include plenty of older fan favourites too.”
