Far from being the number of the beast, Iron Maiden have announced that their new album – the band’s 15th studio outing – is entitled The Final Frontier. The new long player, which will be released in the UK mid-August, has been preceded by a free download preview, El Dorado, which is available at www.ironmaiden.com. Front man Bruce Dickinson said of the taster track “As we will be including it in the set of our ‘Final Frontier World Tour’, we thought it would be great to thank all our fans and get them into ‘The Final Frontier’ mood by giving them this song upfront of the tour and album release.”
The world tour doesn’t take in Australia at this stage, taking in Canada, the US and Europe. The album was recorded in the Bahamas and Los Angeles by long term producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley, while the artwork features long term band mascot Eddie. The track listing runs:
‘Satellite 15…..The Final Frontier’
‘El Dorado’
‘Mother Of Mercy’
‘Coming Home’
‘The Alchemist’
‘Isle Of Avalon’
‘Starblind’
‘The Talisman’
‘The Man Who Would Be King’
‘When The Wild Wind Blows’
