Iron Maiden have been forced to postpone their forthcoming Australian tour amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The band were scheduled to touch down in Australia for a slew of arena shows, but have, understandably, been forced to postpone to a later date.

“Aussie and Kiwi Troopers, We are hugely disappointed not to be seeing our fans in Australia and New Zealand in May due to the understandable Government concert bans surrounding Coronavirus,” the band shared in a statement. “Sadly these are difficult and uncertain times for us all.

“We still intend to bring this great Legacy Of The Beast show to you all as soon as we can and I promise we will do everything we can to achieve this with our promoters and subject to what is happening around us globally

“Take care of yourselves, be safe and be smart.”

This is just one of many high-profile entertainment music events that have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen the postponement of Coachella, Splendour in the Grass and Under The Southern Stars. Whilst Download Festival Australia, South By Southwest, Bluesfest and Glastonbury, were all canned entirely.
