Legendary Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson has landed himself a top marketing gig. Far from being content with being the lead singer of one of the world’s most legendary metal bands, or being a working pilot for charter airline Astraeus Airlines, he’s now landed himself the plum gig of being the aforementioned airline’s marketing director.
The airline, based at London’s second busiest airport Gatwick, made it sound like just another suit being elevated to a top job after years of corporate paper shuffling in their statement. “With the rapid growth in the business we have increased our commercial team,” the corporate statement read. “Bruce Dickinson as our marketing director, [and] Claire Ronson has now moved to sales and marketing to support our sales team.” They overlook the fact that the lead singer of metal giants Iron Maiden – set to headline Australia’s Soundwave Festival in February – is behind iconic hits such as ‘Run To The Hills’ and ‘Bring Your Daughter … To The Slaughter.” Bruce flies his band’s own Boeing 757 around the world on tour, and until recently also hosted a metal show on BBC’s 6 Music radio station. Now, what parent ever disproved of their daughter having a musician as a boyfriend? Come here and be severely spanked!
