J Mascis – the enigmatic frontman of alt-rock pioneers Dinosaur Jr. – has announced a string of headline dates for his trip to Australia in 2019.
Over the last few weeks, J Mascis was named as an exciting international act on both the Adelaide Festival, and Farmer & The Owl lineups. Now, the iconic rocker has unveiled an extensive series of headline dates for his time in the country.
Touring in support of his latest solo album, Elastic Days, the rocker is no stranger to Australia, having toured here relentlessly over the years.
Kicking things off in Sydney on March 1st, J Masics is set to hit up Wollongong, Newcastle, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Perth, Margaret River, and Adelaide, before wrapping things up in Castlemaine on March 16th.
Excitingly, J Mascis was also announced today for the Brunswick Music Festival in Melbourne next March, with a three-night residency at Howler on the cards.
While Snail Mail have also been announced for the Brunswick Music Festival, we’ll have to wait a while before we find out what other huge acts are on the bill.
“That’s it,” explained Music Programmer Emily Ulman, “You’re not getting any more out of us until the full program announcement.”
Tickets to J Mascis’ solo tour go on sale at 9am AEDT on Wednesday, November 28th.
