Turns out the recipe for a killer album is pretty straightforward; throw together two of the hottest rappers and an NBA baller, just ask Lil Durk, Lil Baby and James Harden.

The successful trio released The Voice of the Heroes together this week. The album sees Lil Durk and Lil Baby on the mic and it’s been revealed that James Harden was the executive producer on the album.

The hot collab project was first announced when the rappers shared identical social media posts late last month. Now, Harden has spoken of his involvement with the album in a statement.

“From the beginning, I’ve had a passion for basketball, and music has always went hand and hand with it. It drives me on the daily to continue to be the best at what I do, to always strive for more. I see that same passion in Lil Baby and Lil Durk and can honestly I say I’m a true fan,” Harden shared.

Harden revealed that he was originally only planning to team up with Lil Baby and Lil Durk for a track or two.

“The initial idea was to get the two together to make a few songs. But with their work ethic and undeniable talent here we are,” he said. “From late nights in my studio in Houston, the two of them being by my side as I transitioned from Houston to New York it was truly an honor to watch them in their element. Countless hours in the studio watching them create was an absolute privilege to say the least.”

The 18-track album The Voice of the Heroes dropped on Friday and, along with Lil Baby and Lil Durk, it also features Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Rod Wave.

Speaking of the album to MTV, Lil’ Baby shared, “Me and [Lil] Durk been locked in every night. Goddamn, that’s the new one. We coming. Me and [Lil] Durk dropping an album, fa sho.”

He added, “When it comes to that street shit, the streets is like, we the voices and the heroes of this shit. You know what I’m saying? Kids look at us like heroes. I know they look at me like one and [Lil] Durk, too. That nigga been holding it down for a minute.”
