After years helping shape the halftime show through Roc Nation, the rapper will take the stage at SoFi Stadium in February.
Jay-Z will headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, with the NFL confirming his booking after last week’s reports linked him to the performance.
Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation announced that the rapper will perform at Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on 14 February 2027, local time.
The announcement came on Monday night in the US, according to the Associated Press, moving the booking from speculation to confirmation.
For Jay-Z, it means taking the stage at an event his company has spent years helping shape. Roc Nation has worked with the NFL since 2019, advising on performers and helping produce its entertainment presentations.
Jay-Z had previously been cautious about moving from selecting performers to headlining himself.
“I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early,” he told Entertainment Tonight in January 2024, before leaving the door open: “Maybe one year.”

In the new announcement, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he had asked Jay-Z to perform when the league first reached its agreement with Roc Nation, leaving the timing to the rapper.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in the announcement.
The booking follows a year celebrating three decades of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. As Tone Deaf previously reported, that anniversary brought him to Yankee Stadium for a three-night run in July, followed by further stadium dates overseas.
Roc Nation will executive produce the Super Bowl performance, with Hamish Hamilton directing.
