Joey Cape, one of the most beloved names in punk music is set to perform a small run of headline dates this year when he visits Australia for BIGSOUND.

Earlier this month, Joey Cape was announced as one of the keynote speakers at this year’s edition of BIGSOUND. One of punk rock’s biggest names for almost 30 years, Joey Cape has fronted a number of the genre’s most revered bands, including Lagwagon, Bad Astronaut, and also performed as a member of supergroup Me First & The Gimme Gimmes.

Since 2008 though, Joey has also been heading out solo, performing some brilliant songs in a much more stripped back setting.

While industry-minded fans would undoubtedly be eager to hear just what insights this punk veteran has to offer, others undoubtedly were hoping that Joey Cape would be blessing them with some sideshows while he’s in the country. Now, the prayers of fans have been answered.

Hitting up Sydney and Melbourne this September, Joey Cape is set to be supported by PEARS frontman Zach Quinn as he delivers a blistering set full of old favourites and new classics.

Having collaborated together during the recording of his solo album through One Week Records, Zach Quinn noted that Cape is a consummate professional when it comes to writing and producing music.

“This was the most fun I’ve had making a record,” Quinn explained. “The One Week concept only works because Joey has such a good taste and clear vision. There’s nothing more exciting than working with someone from whom there is so much to learn. The Caper is unparalleled.”

Tickets to Joey Cape’s solo dates go on sale this Friday, at 9am. He’s also set to speak at BIGSOUND this September as well, so make sure you don’t miss out on hearing some unparalleled insights from one of the genre’s biggest names.
