MAMAMOO, WAW [Where Are We]

One of K-pop’s strongest girl-groups, MAMAMOO, came back today (!) to reclaim their crown with their mini-album, WAW. Coinciding with their upcoming seventh anniversary, the album is part of a trio of releases and activities for the event, which also include a concert and an as-yet untitled documentary, detailing the rise of one of the strongest vocal acts in K-pop.

“Where Are We’ contains the stories of the MAMAMOO members over the past seven years, but it also contains stories about life that anyone can relate to. We went through a lot of joys and hardships in the past seven years, and we tried to show that in the music video,” explained member Solar in a Behind-The-Scenes video. Please keep the tissues on standby for this one.

EXO, Don’t Fight The Feeling

ICYMI, K-pop group EXO announced new music for June earlier this year and it was a big deal. Yes, we may not be getting the entire nine-member lineup (with Suho, Baekhyun, Chen and Chanyeol carrying out their mandatory military service), but we are getting to see Xiumin and D.O. back on our screens after two years.

Luckily, Baekhyun and Chanyeol also had the chance to record before they left for their respective services. And, member Lay is participating too, in what seems to be an extravaganza through space! Yep, we’re not fighting this feeling, only the wait until June 6th!

N.Flying, Man On The Moon

Underrated rap rock band N.Flying finally had their big breakthrough with ‘Rooftop’, which became one of the representative singles of 2019. Since then, both the group’s popularity and music have caught momentum, and they will finally be back on June 6th with their first full-length album Man On The Moon, helmed by the title track ‘Moonshot’. Yep, we’ve got two space-themed albums in one day to launch us into the stratosphere but we ain’t complaining!

Brave Girls

In February of 2021, the four members of Brave Girls were considering going their separate ways after years of moderate success. Then, a compilation of the group performing their 2017 track ‘Rollin’’ on various South Korean military bases went viral.

Thanks to the efforts of ex-military servicemen and currently enlisted fans — who credited the group for making their service easier and termed  ‘Rollin’’ the unofficial anthem of the troops — Brave Girls were propelled into the spotlight, and are now fully and officially not disbanding. Fans turned the tide for this ambitious act, and we now await with bated breath to see what they’ll do next. Check out our primer into Brave Girls’ overnight popularity here!

TWICE, Taste of Love

Is there anyone who does themes like TWICE does? We’ve seen them own Halloween-core, draw from pop-culture, have a party on an isolated island, and turn into deliciously dark femme-fatale icons. Now, TWICE are giving us a Taste of Love, quite literally.

On June 11th, TWICE are inviting us to a decadent, fruity, gorgeous party out in the sun. It might be ‘Alcohol-Free’, as suggested by the title track, but don’t worry — you’ll be getting drunk on the vibes.
