K-pop singer and actress Goo Hara has tragically passed away. The 28-year-old star was found dead in her home in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday. The cause of death is currently under investigation, and police are yet to file an official report on her passing.
In May this year, Goo was hospitalised after a reported suicide attempt. In 2018, Goo was involved in a high-profile legal battle with an ex-boyfriend, Choi Johng-bum, where she was allegedly threatened with revenge porn. Choi was convicted of coercian and sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison.
Goo Hara rose to prominence as a member of popular K-pop group Kara, who are often considered one of the first groups to break through to international audiences. Following her time in Hara she embarked on a solo music career and starred in multiple television programs, including her own reality TV series On & Off, and a beauty show A Style For You.
