Earlier this week, a series of deadly tornados hit Nashville, Tennesse. The second-deadliest tornado event in the state’s history left buildings levelled and at least 24 people dead, with 20 still missing.

In a bid to raise funds for Nashville’s relief efforts, Grammy-winning country-pop artist Kacey Musgraves has announced that she will be selling her clothing and concert outfits in a sale through Stage to Closet.

“Proceeds of the closet sale I announced yesterday were going to go to TN forest preservation and while that is important to me, the Nashville tornado relief efforts need help first. The sale is still going on today and more things are being added if you want to help,” Musgraves shared in an Instagram story.

Stage to Closet further detailed Musgraves donations, revealing “Kacey has decided to help our beloved music city — by helping raise funds to rebuild here in Nashville after the devastating tornadoes the other night during our sale,” they wrote. “We will go back to our regularly scheduled programming with more brand new Kacey items today!”

Nashville is the beating heart of the music world, and musicians have rallied together to respond to the crisis. Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes took to Instagram to share a photo of her hands, which were presumably dirty after a day of helping the community sift through their homes. “I love this community so much. I don’t know what else to say, really. Everyone is out here today helping with each other and it’s really moving,” she wrote in an Instagram post, linking to aid organisations Hands on Nashville, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and the Red Cross of Tennessee.
